Today..

The reality of the work to be done!!!...thousands of seeds to be planted....

this does not include all the plants hugging the garden walls at the moment!!!....

..a visit to a church we are designing the wedding flowers for in the summer....

while walking to the lynch gate..I was stopped in my tracks by this line of headstones...where all others had names weather-beaten and indistinct..a whole line a 'Ashley's' still sharp and proud...and totally fascinating .

We all hope that you all have a wonderful Easter break, we are open Saturday 30th and then closed until Wednesday 9am.
see you in April!!!

playing

.....we are on the quest ( again) for an image for our seasonal change of business cards......this is the first arrangement we have photographed......we think it should be a few days older...almost want the petals to be about to cascade down...
Easter is nearly here so we have feathers and quails eggs...surely the prettiest egg ever........

Build up...

..we always try to make a really attractive display of the flowers....it takes a bit of moving about and rearranging.......we are florists ..take it for granted we  over order our flowers!!
our much loved vintage workbench..groaning under the weight of it all......
This week we have metre high callas......cloony rannunculus...as big as a rose....muscari...lillac...clematis....stocks....dill....spray garden roses....fritillaries....all the usual suspects and a new gerbera which is in disguise as a dahlia.
Hope you all miss the bad weather and have a great weekend..x

Pretty Pinks

pretty brides bouquet from last saturday......mixed tulips, rannunculus, genista, veronica and clematis.....while making a tulip bouquet....have classic fm on....no distractions.....and (if only) a large glass of something chilled besides you........those tulip heads always decide to turn around to just where you didn't want them......
...and I just caught sight of these snakes head fritillaries next to this painted trug....just love the colour combination..

We hope you have a wonderful weekend..x

And so it begins...

Monday the 11th of March, the day after Mother's Day. I can't believe it!
Mother's Day was crazy! We thought we over ordered on our flowers but on Saturday afternoon at 4 pm we had sold every single flower in the shop! We had to go to our wholesalers on the Sunday morning to get some more!
The mums in and around Hungerford have really been spoiled!
So as you understand we haven't really been able to blog, but we managed to take a picture of two....

Not to forget the lovely wedding we did! Many congratulations Rebecca & Matt!

And this morning we had even more excitement...

The preparations to get the garden ready for sowing and planting have begun!
