last week

we made a vain attempt at the dreaded window photo...bunting features heavily!!

..a couple of shots of a corner of the shop...a bedside table originally  from Harrods..artichokes, peonies and roses in one of our little milk bottle holders....and the last few french inkwells....

I couldn't resist photographing the most amazing bearded iris that are growing outside my village church, with the morning sun shining through the petals they looked radiant...

and on the common the grass has turned golden with buttercups!!

I hope you are enjoying this fabulous weather and do tell us what is blooming around you at the moment.

I thought your window looked lovely. It is wonderful to see what everyone is doing in the way of a tribute to the diamond jubilee.

We had nothing blooming due to the rain, and now it's all come in a hige rush. Lots of roses, peonies, aquilegias and violets. And the acacia trees are delightfully ellow. (Sadly so are the pesky dandelions!) Nice to meet you the other day, I'll be back!

I love to 'visit' blogs and see all the marvelous ideas people use to celebrate the Jubilee and your window complete with bunting looks very attractive! Since we are too faraway to do much, that's the best we can do (albeit we do sneak the Union Jack everywhere we can, subtly of course!).
I thought I would bring you a chuckle...Flowers are hard to grow where deer abound so this island sees little of it (8ft fences are jumped!) but I found ONE buttercup...
Never mind, I just delight in seeing yet another one of your lovely arrangement!
A big hello from the Pacific NW coastline...

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your enthusiastic comments on my blog. They put a huge smile on my face :-). Such a coincidence you know the people who own Quince.

I would love to come over and have a cup of coffee with you when in England and see your flower shop.

My family and I will be staying in Stow-on-the-Wold at the beginning of August. I didn't have a look at the map yet. Is Hungerford far away?

Enjoy your day!
