To every season......

The seasons have moved on......
this is the last bouquet I picked from the walled garden.......

We can't quite believe the bounty we have had this year while only really experimenting with 'growing our own'.....the first hard frost a week or so ago finished all that......

but here we are and the first of next years crop already sprouted and growing on....

we are seeing the first of the spring flowers coming in....I know its November....but that is the flower industry..slightly ahead of ourselves...we are selling out of potted hyacinths every week so I guess everybody is ready for the change of season too!!

It is one of the humbling things about being a florist in a small town..you get to see all the milestones of peoples lives...the joys and the sorrows.......

'to everything there is a  season......
a time to sow.....
a time to reap.....
a time to dance.......
a time to mourn...........
a time of war...
a time of peace......
turn, turn, turn...............'

the ending ....and the beginning

...the last throws of Christmas arrangements.....teacup with candle...before the watch came off Martins wrist and the bandage went on....( see our last post for gory dets...)
Amongst all the celebrations, eating and drinking and general merriment in those strange days between Christmas and New Year......

 one families world fell apart.....

and another couples life together started.....

it is true to say a florists day is never the same and we see all of life's comings and goings.....

and as a little beacon to the coming spring winter flowering jasmine picked from the garden.

Happy Birthday To Us!

Today we are two!....where have those two years gone? It seems like yesterday we opened the door for the first time and served our very first customer.

So a BIG thank you to all our lovely customers.....floristry is such a personal business..
We see you happy and sad....commemorating all the major events in your lives.....big bouquets or just a little pot of prettiness for the kitchen window....
We love every minute and look forward to the future with gratitude..xxx
