Pom-Pom Love

As you know if you  are a regular here we take our windows as a pretty important feature of the shop and change things about at least every two weeks....

continually coming up with fresh ideas is always a challenge...

however after seeing tissue pom-poms as a wedding feature we knew we wanted to fill the window with these frilly lovelies for our Mothering Sunday Window....after an afternoon of tissue folding and the floor looking like a confetti factory we have this...

 the reaction from the good folk of Hungerford was a resounding  FANTASTIC!!!!...I don't think we have had such a positive vote of people popping their heads through the door since the infamous Halloween window of 2011.....

thanks so much for the thumbs up....and remember its only 9 (and a half) days to Mothers Day.....

 ......we craved bright colours and a hint of summer in all these bleak and misty  February days........
jewel like poppies......opening as big as plates.......but I love them all crumpled...like crepe paper.......
they seem such a fleeting flower but we burnt the ends of the stems and the ones we took home are still flowering brilliantly 5 days later......

it has been so cold today.....tonight there are anemones in the kitchen in an attempt to make them show their petals for tomorrow...

Flying high

We are on a post valentine come down after two days of non stop flowers....
our hands are in need of a seriously intensive nourishment treatment...our bones are aching...and the shop is in the process of being re-stocked......
at home the dishes are piled up in the sink and one of us is on her second G&T!!!

What we loved........
.... big bunches of gorgeous tulips.......
.....dusky pink roses, ranunculus, helebore and lilac......
....orchid corsages....yes someone got married...how romantic....
...the man who wanted one of every flower in the shop (barring lilies & roses)...we raised our eyebrows but the bouquet looked like we had wandered into a spring flower border and snipped away gently...we salute you Sir..it just goes to show that in this world you are always learning.

We are now taking a deep breath.....
three weeks 'til Mothering Sunday!

today was fraught with battles over a faulty phone line.....what a week to choose.....

but......we had a cup of tea and calmed down....

this is our fabulous heart wreath for the door..don't those colours just zing???

Count down

 ...we now on count down for 14/2/13........this is our valentine bunting in the making.....

 ..at least this year we have managed to sort a valentines window out......we are predictable....its red...hey ho!!

and this is the shop after today's lovely delivery.......tulips are everywhere....

heres hoping that the snow stays away and you have a wonderful weekend!!

........what a roller coaster life can be........we are bursting with exciting news but have to 'keep Mum' for another few days before we can tell you......I know we are mysterious at times...
....but for now we have divine flowers to tempt you into our lovely shop......did you know its only 9 days to Saint Valentines Day...ahhhh!!....we will have red roses but why not be different and have a gorgeous bunch of spring flowers in amazing colours and perfectly scented?
