.....well its still planting bulbs big time here..a new window to advertise our 'Vintage Planting Party' on Sunday..play with plants.....have a cream tea.....chat to Martin what more could you need  on a Sunday??

......Miss Magpie went to probably her last flea market before her little 'pip' arrives........as usual a very eclectic mix of goodies to choose from...we loved the chippy Virgin Mary and hope she makes it to our Easter window......
and are still swooning over the french cupboard with its original paint.......
on the flower side we love, love, love the double hellebore.....
and a final February Leap Year Wedding of creamy callas.....

I have had a lovely restful Sunday being spoilt by someone elses wonderful cooking...now a glass of wine in hand  it is time to think about the week ahead.....

if you could have any flower in the shop this week what would it be?????

Menagerie

We've gone a bit animal crazy this week....

The question asked most so far is:

How much is that doggy in the window?

To which we reply:

The lovely big one? 

Or cute little one?

Would you rather have the royal birds?

A horse perhaps? 

 We do offer some different breeds.



Do we sell dolphins? Don't be silly..

Of course we do!

But don't fret!

We still sell lovely plants and flowers!

There is only a small chance you could hear a horse whinny inbetween the tulips.....

white, the new red.....

well, we have finally surfaced from the blur that was valentines day....
a haze of spring flowers, hyacinth, tulips,rannunculus,narcissus, anemones....
red roses..both  Red Naomi and Black Baccarat 
 but the winner by far was the white rose......
Avalanche and the glorious blousey and scented  Norma Jean....
thank you to all our lovely customers, you romantic lot!!!

Excuse me while I take off five layers of clothes before I write this......ok ....

The zinc  cup and saucer is this weeks best seller...we had thought if they didn't go we would keep them, minus the lovely muscari of course, for the Jubilee window..but there won't be any left....

 ...a vinatge sewing box lined with french paper...just for the moment filled with gorgeous pink patio roses..mmm...do you like our brilliant valentines stamp......many thanks to blade rubber for talking me into that one!!

and our door wreath this week is of course a heart...shabby chic vine heart with a rose and genista center....

countdown...

Today is so cold the dutchman has kept his hat on....he is happy because he's on his third coffee and there are bouquets to make...

10am....'its one week to valentines day and the window is still not sorted' he says.....

....note at 4pm today we decide to do the valentines window which means totally re-arranging the shop, which means as soon as you are in total chaos we have a constant stream of customers and we have to apologize a lot.......

..we have colour related different areas..this is the copper.brass and stoneware section.......by 5.30 we had to have wine.....the window has a bench, a birdbath and a hundred marble hearts..tomorrow i may get more pictures.....and more wine.. xx

spring fever

its bulbs at very turn in the shop at the moment.

blue ones....hyacinth, muscari, iris,

white ones...snowdrops, white magic muscari, hyacinths in threes and ones... hellebores....

pinky purple ones.... hellebores...oh and hyacinths...ok we are a little hyacinth crazy here!!

as well as all the yellow ones ..tete a tete... narcissus....ranuculus ( sorry sold out)...

and lilies..white this week ( potted at an unbelievable price)

We have them potted into lovely containers ....some vintage.....some quirky....of course this is Martin and  the Magpie....
