Pretty Pinks

 pretty brides bouquet from last saturday......mixed tulips, rannunculus, genista, veronica and clematis.....while making a tulip bouquet....have classic fm on....no distractions.....and (if only) a large glass of something chilled besides you........those tulip heads always decide to turn around to just where you didn't want them......

...and I just caught sight of these snakes head fritillaries next to this painted trug....just love the colour combination..

And so it begins...

Monday the 11th of March, the day after Mother's Day. I can't believe it!

Mother's Day was crazy! We thought we over ordered on our flowers but on Saturday afternoon at 4 pm we had sold every single flower in the shop! We had to go to our wholesalers on the Sunday morning to get some more!

The mums in and around Hungerford have really been spoiled!

So as you understand we haven't really been able to blog, but we managed to take a picture of two....

Not to forget the lovely wedding we did! Many congratulations Rebecca & Matt!

And this morning we had even more excitement...

The preparations to get the garden ready for sowing and planting have begun!

We have the most beautiful flowers in the shop today....

After five months of planning this dream its finally signed and sealed

Pom-Pom Love

As you know if you  are a regular here we take our windows as a pretty important feature of the shop and change things about at least every two weeks....

continually coming up with fresh ideas is always a challenge...

however after seeing tissue pom-poms as a wedding feature we knew we wanted to fill the window with these frilly lovelies for our Mothering Sunday Window....after an afternoon of tissue folding and the floor looking like a confetti factory we have this...

 the reaction from the good folk of Hungerford was a resounding  FANTASTIC!!!!...I don't think we have had such a positive vote of people popping their heads through the door since the infamous Halloween window of 2011.....

thanks so much for the thumbs up....and remember its only 9 (and a half) days to Mothers Day.....

Someone walked into the shop and commented how ugly he was....are hands covered his stubby ears...Ugly? No way, look at that jolly grin!

You never know he might snuffle you out the odd truffle

Just to say a BIG thank you to all of you who bought your Mums flowers and plants at the weekend..you are awesome!!!

 We had some amazing tulips in...long stemmed french flaming flag d'adore..... and these unbelievably frilly mysterious Parrot tulip.....

and the gorgeous Pink Piano rose....

Lots of mums have been very lucky this weekend!!!!

Bulbtastic

we have  bulbs at every turn..... in every container possible..
rustic, vintage, modern, basket, tin,  jug, jelly moulds, terracotta..
moss and pussy willow  abound...
at times we have looked like the flower pot men in the potting shed (i'll explain tomorrow Martin!!)
The floor needs repainting  as the grime  will never shift
i want shout....you can't buy it 'til Friday!!!!
But
of course you can....they are here for you and your lovely mums.
Tomorrow I will try to remember to photograph flowers....they are divine..

We are open 9-5'ish Friday and Saturday, 9-12 Mothering Sunday.
We are then closed MONDAY open again Tuesday 9am.
