Splendid Succulents

An order for fifty planted succulents in terracotta pots makes for a pretty photo shoot!

I got a little carried away...

I love the writing on some of the pots. There was 'marrow' 'kale' '& melon'...sounds like an interesting potting shed to me.

Some moss and a few shells work a treat on these. I wish I could have taken them all home!

Suitcase Spring

Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!

Tree out, plants in!

Most people will have taken their tree and Christmas decorations down by today or will do it tonight.
It's unlucky to do it after the 12th night after Christmas!

As nice as it can be to take everything Christmassy away again, it does make home feel empty and less cosy.
Maybe some of these lovely plants can brighten up your new year and make your house feel all lovely again!

Our Week in Photos

The hedgerow are showing off their beauty...planted cyclamen in wire baskets smell divine, and are proving to be a firm favorite with our customers.

Pale Greens, and clear french glass inkwells, perfect for a single bloom, ivy or even holly lined down the Christmas table.

New festive Aubergine bags styled ready for the beautiful florals

Perfect dreamy scented Paperwhites fill the whole shop with the smell of spring...they are early, like most flowers and plants this year.

Honesty and pale white roses make an inviting wreath.

Our window display doesn't stay around for long, most of this is now sold, everyone is preparing their homes for the season

We have a rather beautiful angel ready for our window...isn't she stunning?

The ripening berries point to it being another hard winter...I hope you all have bird tables full to the brim with food!

Another creature not quite ready for winter...Bob is happy on his chair in a nice warm house, even the lead jangling is not getting his attention!

Are you getting prepared for the season? What are your plans? Are you having a real tree?
A Christmas with a bump...but without sloe gin and pate....hows a girl to survive?

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

'.... Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things....'

I think I can safely say that everybody knows these lyrics from 'The Sound of Music'...

I've always wondered whether I could be a songwriter....
Let's see... Uhm...

'Green Eye Roses and arms full of Heather...

Beautiful Clematis, no matter the weather....

Cute little Pansies planted in terrines...

These are a few of my favourite things....'

So what do you think? Have I got a blooming career in songwriting ahead of me???

Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves...

The title of many songs...
The sign that summer's gone and winter is coming...
Great for strolling through...
Perfect for nature tables..
Gorgeous colours....

With every change of season I'm saying it's my favorite season..
Contradictive.. I know...

I just can't resist berries.. I love berries! No matter what size or colour!
And I love stepping on Symphoricarpos berries (Snowberry)... especially the sound when they pop!

Autumn planters with a hint of Christmas...
And sold within half an hour! Even surprised me!

Autumn, J'adore...
