Flying high

We are on a post valentine come down after two days of non stop flowers....
our hands are in need of a seriously intensive nourishment treatment...our bones are aching...and the shop is in the process of being re-stocked......
at home the dishes are piled up in the sink and one of us is on her second G&T!!!

What we loved........
.... big bunches of gorgeous tulips.......
.....dusky pink roses, ranunculus, helebore and lilac......
....orchid corsages....yes someone got married...how romantic....
...the man who wanted one of every flower in the shop (barring lilies & roses)...we raised our eyebrows but the bouquet looked like we had wandered into a spring flower border and snipped away gently...we salute you Sir..it just goes to show that in this world you are always learning.

We are now taking a deep breath.....
three weeks 'til Mothering Sunday!

today was fraught with battles over a faulty phone line.....what a week to choose.....

but......we had a cup of tea and calmed down....

this is our fabulous heart wreath for the door..don't those colours just zing???

There are days when the flowers do all the talking

can it get....

...anymore beautiful......we are fickle.......when something bores us....we change things......we move...we shake ourselves up....we go out on a limb.....we buy for us...like kids in a candy shop.....we hope you like it too....this weekend..peonies  in every colour.....scented garden roses......petite bunches of lily of the valley...the final huzzah of  the tulips season.....perfume..perfume..perfume...we are  inspired...excited ... delirious with it all...we are addicts...devotees...in awe......

She probably won't last as long as my previous love, but gosh... ain't she pretty???

She is just gorgeous..... on her own or surrounded by others, she stands out...

Martin & the Magpie loves wreaths...in all shapes & sizes...all colours & flower combinations.

This week it is a rainbow of colour....a spring palette....

...& an utter delight......J'adore Spring!

Opening Excitment

This little Magpie is feeling like the day she got married....nervous, excited and so happy. Our Beloved Martin & the Magpie is opening on Tuesday!

Martin & the Magpie, is a family business made up of a Husband and wife and a Mum!

We all share a huge passion for flowers, weddings, and creative lifestyles.

Our aim is to create a wonderful, fun and flower-tastic shop to showcase our work. We are mixing our styles and loves to make a quirky yet seasonal florist.

We are going to be holding classes for all types of floristry including a Vintage Magpie masterclass

this will mean that you will be able to create a simple hand tied bouquet right up to your own wedding bouquet...floral or Vintage.

We hope to express our love of flowers onto our customers.
